Steam Wagon Road Nebraska City Corduroy Cap

$30 · Unisex fit

One size

Made to order · ships in 2–5 business days

A black corduroy cap embroidered with a small old-gold steam wagon above "Steam Wagon Road" in a sturdy heritage serif, with "Nebraska City" stitched in white beneath. The design nods to the nickname of the Nebraska City–Fort Kearny Cut-Off, the freighting road that took its name from an 1862 steam wagon experiment just outside town. Soft corduroy and simple two-thread embroidery make it an easy everyday cap.

The story behind this design. The cut‑off helped make Nebraska City a major freighting center between 1858 and 1865 and was nicknamed the “Steam Wagon Road” after an 1862 experiment that failed just outside town. More in About Nebraska City
